- Both Van Gogh and Schumann survived suicidal attempts and died young, but Schumann died alone in a asylum at age 46 while Van Gogh passed away with his brother Theo’s accompany at Ravoux Inn, to where he went just after he was released by the hospital treated his chest wound caused by a revolver he aimed at himself, at age 37.
